NYC Nightlife

1. Grab a Beer and Throw an Axe in Brooklyn

Skip the bowling balls and dartboards and head straight for the axe at Brooklyn's new "KickAxe" hangout. Axe throwing experts spend about 10-15 minutes training your group on throwing techniques and remain nearby to help and keep score. Keep an eye on their website for special promotions, like Thursday Axe Stravaganza's 50-percent off beer, wine, seltzers, and ciders from eight pm to midnight.

2. Enjoy a Unique Social Mixology Experience

Why go to the bar when you can have a good time and mix your own? At Liquor Lab NYC, a professional mixologist guides your group through crafting your own beers, wines, cocktails, and spirits in an interactive, social environment where you can rub elbows with other enthusiasts. Check out their specialty classes for themed nights, such as Whiskey and Wings, Double Buzz, or Margaritas and Tacos.

3. Dance, Drink and Eat at the Black Flamingo in Brooklyn

Dancing, booze, and tacos. What's not to love? Brooklyn's Black Flamingo is more than a taqueria with 100-percent plant-based foods. It's also a great bar and Los Angeles style nightclub on the real east side and we’’re not talking Long Island City. Enjoy a fruity cocktail or a glass of wine then head to the dance floor and let loose to a techno beats dance party.

4. Plan a Night of Adventure at the House of Yes

If you're looking for something a little more adventurous (think Le Bain at the Standard Hotel) with bottle service and dj sets, head over to the House of Yes, featuring a dance club, a bar, and a memorable show. Rated a Must Do by Time Out New York, House of Yes has an events calendar on their website for up and coming performances each night of the week like the dirty circus or Art Battle Brooklyn. They have a state of the art sound system for house music, hip hop, and disco ball. With an emphasis on connection, creativity and living life, they're all about letting loose and having fun without checking social media.

5. Go Old School at Banzarbar

An upstairs bar at Freeman's restaurant in East Village, this New York bar is the perfect place to start your night with food and drinks. Electric candlestick table centerpieces and cabin-like décor set a cozy, classic, old-school vibe. Take a seat, order some oysters, and sip through a drink or two in style.

6. Bring on the Bar at The Dead Rabbit

Forget Times Square and the Empire State Building. Voted the best bar in the world in 2015 and 2016, the Dead Rabbit is a three-story bar you'll have to visit near the Staten Island ferry terminal. The bottom floor provides you with a traditional Irish pub dive bar experience, great food, live music, and a laid-back atmosphere.

Head up one story and you've landed in the cocktail cathedral they've described as "the golden age of all things mixed." What's truly extraordinary about this cocktail bar is the story. The hosts guide you through a time-traveling tale in which your drinks grow from mild to adventurous as the story progresses.

For reservation only, the top floor is a dedicated space for you to host parties of up to 64 people.
